Good day to all,
As you all know, we have not made a lot of announcement lately related to BCM. This was a concious choice from the team.
Part of our team was focussed on the CBM revival project and we wanted to ensure that the spotlight remained present there.
But this doesn't mean that we have stood still and drinking mai-thais or other random coctails on a beach.
What has happened in the past few months related to BCM?
Project management:
Not much changed on this part, I have been following up with everybody's work on a weekly base.
I have some other project asking for some time as well, but nothing that interferes with my work on BCM.
Design:
We have started working on the next great features for BCM. We are currently working on redefining what a league is, how it works and how to improve it.
Our starting points are the following: Charazay (ofc), FIBA and NBA. At the moment we have different ways a league can work and looking into what is the best (making up pro's and cons).
At the same time we are looking into the schedule of a season, can this be improved? if so how? Those are our main questions on that part.
If you have any aspect of Charazay leagues you adored or hated, be sure to comment about it below.
Front-end:
With new modules from the server coming to life and new screens generated from the designers, I have been working on making them come to life.
I have improved on the login mechanism that was made in the first test pages and currently making sure that everybody can create a team as well as recruit players.
Back-end:
What has happened here is a very good question, in short: a lot.
I have been working hard on ensuring that we have a good security set up for the site. This to ensure that users can play the game and enjoy it without risking to loose their teams.
I worked on creating new teams and players for those teams. It is nice that you can login into the game, but with nothing to see what is the point?
Currently I am working on what all of you have been die-ing to try out: the game engine. At the same time I am working on making matches and how to set tactics.
Art department:
As partial artist, I was mainly working on design, but I did make a bit of art to help out with the game engine.
I created a few screens (shown below) related to how our tactics will work. Similar images most likely will also be used in the game manual to explain them to you, our users.
Tool development:
It is nice for an artist to create those images, but it would take too much time to make all of them for every single tactic.
For this when my time allows I will work on a tool to create those tactics visually and convert them into text the server understands and is able to use.
This will make both works a lot lighter.
We are happy as to where the game is going and at the same time the team made a choice to not try and rush a product to you but work on providing less feature but of high quality.
We hope that you will enjoy our efforts and giving us some time, we will give you the Basketball Manage game you always wanted.
Your BCM crew
